This year has not been a great year for me -- as far as sports are concerned.
The USC Trojans entered the season as the preseason number one team only to spend the last week in December gearing up for the 6-7 Georgia Teach Yellow Jackets, whom they will face in the Sun Bowl on New Year’s Eve. Not to mention the pain I'm still feeling with them losing to both UCLA and Notre Dame in the same ... Read More

I often read and hear about players "back in the day" that bled the colors of their team. Every sport has great rivalries on paper, but do the players really care about them anymore?
I've longed thought about this topic, but the recent news of Kevin Youkilis signing with the Yankees brought it to the forefront for me again.
Sure, Youkilis isn't the best of examples. The long time Boston ... Read More

Tim Tebow has been named by his peers as the most overrated player in the NFL. This is according to a poll conducted and released by Sports Illustrated.
I have a problem with this. Mainly due to the fact that I don’t know anybody who is “overrating” him. Do you?
If the poll question was, “Most Undeserving Media Star” or “Most Mechanically ... Read More

Get your mind out of the gutter.
As a San Diego Charger fan, I was doing cartwheels at the end of the first half of their game against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football.
The Bolts were up 24-0 and my Charger flag was blowing proudly in the wind off of my front porch. Oddly enough, I have two neighbors who are Broncos fans and they live on either side of me. I was planning ... Read More

The NFL has yet another Thursday night game tonight and for many of us the increase in frequency of Thursday games has been welcomed.
Tonight's game will mark the third of 13 regular season Thursday games scheduled for the 2012 season. In comparison, there had been an average of eight Thursday games between the 2006 and 2011 seasons. Ratings have been good, and if the increase in Thursday ... Read More

Now that we are three weeks through the NFL season, we can start to take a look at which top fantasy draft picks are making their owners contemplate trading them before they lose their value.
Some players are off to horrific starts but we all know they are going to turn it around and have a great season. For other players, they may never recover and as an owner ... Read More

“We will now get the call from the retired insurance salesman from Des Moines, Iowa.”
I heard Al Michaels use that introduction for the head referee in Sunday night’s game between the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. This was, of course, when the referee’s conferred with each other for what seemed like ten minutes to make sure the ball was being placed in the right spot. ... Read More

When you think back to your favorite moments attending an NFL game, chances are many of those good vibes include something surrounding a tailgate party.
A tailgate party can be something as simple as you and one other person sitting in a lawn chair in the stadium parking lot sharing a drink while something sizzles on the barbecue. Or, it can be an all day event where a group of people show ... Read More

The landscape of America is constantly changing. Families start to lose their traditions as the kids get older, while starting new ones of their own. As a country we now seem to be quick to judge and protest instead of adhering to “innocent until proven guilty”. Heck, even country music and hockey in Los Angeles have made substantial gains over the last decade. This is just a snippet of the kind of things we ... Read More

We are only four days away training camps opening up throughout the NFL.
While the parity in the league today gives more fans a chance to be excited more than ever, there are still some franchises that have a ways to go before they will even sniff the playoffs.
There are an alarming number of teams who are built for the next couple of years, but due to upcoming expiring ... Read More

As society continues to migrate away from print publications to online sources there appears to be a consistent loss in what many would consider to be real journalism.
The average person scouring the web for news can't decipher between an article based entirely on speculation and one that is factual. Often time this leads to false rumors being spread around about ... Read More

I feel it is fair to preface this piece by stating the Los Angeles Rams ripped out my heart in 1995 when they moved to St. Louis.
Much like the feeling some of you have felt with your beloved team relocating, it hurts. Especially when you are a fifteen years old and some of the best moments you had growing up was watching the Rams play at Anaheim Stadium with your Dad.
